Dear Baby Jace: 109 days to go!

Dear Baby Jace,

Well, I have completely failed at doing this blog. I'm going to attempt to continue doing it!

I am 24 weeks pregnant with you, though everyone says I look much bigger. You and I had quite the weekend! Friday after work we attended a FNM tournament with your daddy. Don't even ask me what it is. All I know is it's a card game with pretty pictures. Saturday we spent the first half of the day at Metal in the Park, supporting friends and local bands. It was hot and your mommy didn't think things through and wore pants. Afterwards, we made an appearance at your girlyfriend's baby shower! It was so much fun and we met so many wonderful people. Plus, we got some delicious food. ;)

We returned home to the most wonderful surprise ever! Your grandparents (on your daddy's side) had bought your crib! I had no idea! Your daddy was in cahoots with them, too, and didn't even give the slightest hint! The sneaky man! The past couple days have consisted of me standing by your bedside, imagining what it's going to be like with you cuddled up in it. I find myself daydreaming about you constantly these days.

Yesterday, your daddy and I went to the Renaissance Festival. I learned two VERY important things. For starters, those events are not for pregnant women. It's hot and loud and way too many people that could potentially bump into...well...my bump. My mommy "danger" radar kept going off when people got too close. Secondly, never forget sunscreen and an umbrella for shade. I am absolutely roasted. Ouch!

Today has been a completely relaxing day for the both of us...except you've been squirming like crazy! I have no idea what has made you so active on this particular day, but I love it! I adore those reassuring nudges or watching my belly do the wave. I'm going to miss that the most after you're born!

We've got sixteen weeks left, little man! Each passing week brings us closer and closer to seeing your perfect face. I can't tell you how excited mommy and daddy are to have your laughter fill our hearts.

Until next week, Jace! I love you more than I can express! August 9th cannot come fast enough!

Love always,
Mommy
